KITCHEN APPLIANCES - Clothes Dryer, page two

Steps that SIGNIFICANTLY lower your energy cost to dry clothes?

STEP TWO: No matter what type of Dryer you have -

Do Not put your Dryer in an unheated basement, garage, or any other space that is cold and damp.

Try to have your Dryer in a room or space that is heated. The colder the room or space your Dryer is in, the more energy it will have to use to offset the difference in temperature each and every time the Dryer runs.

STEP THREE: No matter what type of Dryer you have -

Use the "Automatic Cycles" if your machine has that feature.
Do not use or set a "timed" cycle because the clothes may be fully dry well before the "time" is up.

Let the moisture sensor option on your dryer automatically shut off the machine when the clothes are dry.
