KITCHEN APPLIANCES - Stoves
What to look for when buying a Gas Stove:
|
Perhaps a FOUR burner gas stove is what you need. That is fine, but look for a model that offers one of the four burners with higher BTU output.
The photograph on the right shows the front left burner (with the thicker black arrow) is larger than the other three burners. One of these standard sized burners in the photo has a thin arrow pointing to it.
The advantage is the ability to cook faster and use less gas.
For
example, you can boil water faster and with a lower consumption of gas.
|
|
The stove above features an Electronic Control panel,
noted in the circle. |
Watchdog in Action:
No matter what size, style, or type of stove you buy, note the warranty periods for the models with Electronic Controls. Most Electronic Controls Do Not do well or last long when affected by high temperatures for extended periods of time.
These models are usually less to buy, but cost more in the "long run" due to numerous repairs and replacements of the circuit boards.
Simply models are more expensive to buy, but are made to last.
After all, do you really need another clock on the stove to...
- To tell you the time?
- To change with Daylight Savings Time?
- To use more electricity?
- To break and need repair?
To "time" your meal, just buy a decorative Wind Up Timer that matches your decor and hang it on the wall or keep it on your counter.
|
Now if you need a 30 inch wide stove or 36 inch wide stove look into a model with FIVE burners. The fifth burner will be in the center and have the additional output of BTUs. Thus able to cook faster and use less gas. |
 |
 |
Watchdog in Action:
Now if you need a SIX burner stove, make sure the Griddle that fits over the two center burners is available. The salesperson should included it for free to close the deal.
This will allow you to cook up a breakfast of eggs, hash browns, bacon, and pancakes for six in less time with
less gas. |
